We are happy to announce that Jeannette Washington, M.Ed. will present “The Dyslexic Code” at Accessibility Camp Chicago.
Jeannette is a former Speech Language Pathologist with nearly a decade of experience working with students that exhibit special abilities. Her expertise in the field of dyslexia has been solicited for articles in The Washington Post and The Detroit Free Press.
After attending a coding boot camp and working as a back end developer, she began boasting the importance of accessibility, inclusivity and neuro diversity in the tech industry. she currently works with Microsoft Philanthropies and Detroit Public Schools Community District teaching high school students how to code.
In Jeannette’s talk, “The Dyslexic Code,” she shares that a high incident of dyslexia or dyslexia traits are found in computer programmers. Keeping that in mind, she will show us how to steer the strengths, park the misconceptions and navigate the tech hacks meant to empower developers and designers who exhibit special abilities.
